This "quick tutorial" introduces the general idea of a call and explains the most common cases. It does not explain or illustrate all cases. For additional details and/or examples, refer to the links in the "MORE INFO" box.
Circle By starts from facing couples. The caller will give either one fraction and a call, or two fractions.
The dancers join hands with the dancers they are facing and Circle Left the first fraction and Step to a Wave. Then if the caller specified a call, they do that call. If the caller gave a second fraction, they just arm turn that fraction (by the right).
Reverse Circle By is the same thing in the opposite direction. The dancers Circle Right the first given fraction and step to a left-handed wave. Then they do the specified call or arm turn the specified amount (by the left).
