This "quick tutorial" introduces the general idea of a call and explains the most common cases. It does not explain or illustrate all cases. For additional details and/or examples, refer to the links in the "MORE INFO" box.
Pass the Sea is a three-part call, defined the same way as Pass the Ocean except that the third part is to step to a left-handed wave rather than a right-handed wave.
- Pass Thru
- Face Your Partner (turning 90 degrees)
- Left Step to a Wave (taking left hands)
Note that the first part is still a right-shoulder Pass Thru. So this is not quite the same as a "mirror image" of Pass the Ocean, and it feels a little different for the people who end up in the center. In particular, they can't join hands before turning, as is commonly done for Pass the Ocean. But the last two parts are still normally blended together.
