This "quick tutorial" introduces the general idea of a call and explains the most common cases. It does not explain or illustrate all cases. For additional details and/or examples, refer to the links in the "MORE INFO" box.
The call Remake consists of three parts. First those who can turn 1/4 (90 degrees) by the right. Then those who can turn 1/2 (180 degrees) by the left. Then those who can turn 3/4 (270 degrees) by the right.
As with Swing Thru and 1/4 Thru, the first turn is always by the right, and the action is limited to a four-dancer group. In cases where it would make sense to apply the action across the entire formation (e.g., from columns), the caller will use Grand Remake to indicate that is what is intended.
Of course there is also Left Remake. This means that first those who can turn left 1/4, then those who can turn right 1/2, then those who can turn left 3/4.
