This "quick tutorial" introduces the general idea of a call and explains the most common cases. It does not explain or illustrate all cases. For additional details and/or examples, refer to the links in the "MORE INFO" box.
Trade Circulate is done from parallel two-face lines or parallel waves. The leaders Trade with each other. The trailers diagonally Pass Thru with the trailers from the other line.
In the case of parallel two-faced lines, the trade for the leaders will be a Partner Trade. They both stay in their own half of the line. The trailing couple from one line will be passing thru with the trailing couple from the opposite corner of the square.
In the case of parallel waves, the leaders will be trading "down the line", just as in a Trade the Wave. Each trailer will be passing thru with the other trailer in his/her own box.
In either case, for all of the actions, the dancers will be individually passing right shoulders.
Note that the action of Trade Circulate in the case of parallel waves is the same as the action of a Cross Over Circulate, even though these two calls are defined differently. (They are not the same in the case of two-faced lines.)
