Transfer the Column is done from ordinary columns. The first two dancers in each column walk around the outside of the other column and face in. Meanwhile, the remaining dancers (number 3 and 4 in each column) walk forward and meet each other. These dancers do an Arm Turn 3/4. Finally everybody extends to form parallel waves.
The resulting waves have the same handedness as the original columns. A Transfer the Column starting from left-handed columns will end in left-handed waves.
